About us

At Woodville Psychology we believe that mental health difficulties do not discriminate. We can all struggle with our mental health and wellbeing at times, and can all benefit from extra support during difficult stages of our lives.

Dr Taryn Talbott

I aim to provide a warm, empathic and compassionate approach within a safe therapeutic space where you can feel comfortable to be yourself and share your worries. I work in partnership with you to develop a better understanding of yourself. This can include thinking about why you respond the way you do in different situations. With this knowledge we can look for ways to improve your wellbeing and develop a greater sense of satisfaction with your life.

I am trained and experienced in using many different types of evidence based therapy to support you. I use my knowledge of these approaches to select the elements that will be most helpful for you and create a bespoke therapy experience. I find Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) approaches are most helpful for people who struggle with worry, fear, and anxiety.

Psychological therapy can be useful for anyone looking to improve their emotional wellbeing or develop a better understanding of yourself and why you respond the way you do in different situations. I can support you to develop your confidence, and reduce the impact of worry and fear on your life.

I understand how difficult it can be to reach out for support when you are experiencing difficulties with your mental health or looking to improve your emotional wellbeing. It is important to find someone that you feel able to build a trusting relationship with so that you can feel as comfortable as possible during the work you do together. I offer a free 15 minute, no obligation, telephone call to allow us both to get to know each other a bit better and find out if we are the right fit for each other.

I offer face to face appointments at The Practice Rooms in Cardiff. I also offer online, or telephone appointments so that I can offer support wherever you are in the UK. Some people prefer online or telephone sessions as it means they can have sessions from the comfort of their own home or another place they feel comfortable.

I currently have some availability for evening and weekend appointments.
